"Live Beyond Your Expectations"

Coach Training Workshops

The Adaptive Golf Academy Coach Training Workshop is an interactive day of sharing knowledge and experiences between Physical/Occupational and Recreational Therapists, Golf Professionals, Teachers, volunteer/mentors and adaptive players learning best approaches and skills in teaching adaptive golf.

Our workshop delivers a comprehensive study for new coaches to become more comfortable and confident working with challenged or adaptive needs players. Through self-adaptation exercises, our "coach-in-training" Professionals will feel a variety of adaptations they themselves must learn to apply.

Upon completion of the workshop, Professionals are recognized as trained adaptive golf coaches.

The Adaptive Golf Academy Coach Training Workshop, is the official coach training entity for the Adaptive Golf Association, as well as providing several other organizations across the country with coach training and program development consultation services to include the PGA of America's PGA HOPE "Helping Our Patriots Everywhere" initiative (launching 23 VA Hospital programs since 2014 in conjunction with a Department of Veterans Affairs grant), Georgia State Golf Association's Adaptive Golf Program, Freedom Golf Association, Blaze Sports and Little Linksters LLC serving special needs youth. If you or your organization share the common goal of reaching more individuals with challenges to learn, play and enjoy all the positive benefits golf can provide, contact us today.

Continuing Education: The Adaptive Golf Academy, being recognized and accredited by the PGA of America, the American Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy State Associations to award (CE's) continuing education or (MSR's) Member Service Requirements to their respective members ensures that ethical, high quality training standards are met.

The Coach Training Workshop curriculum is a culmination of over two decades of first-hand adaptive golf lessons and experiences from Adaptive Golfers, PGA Teaching Professionals, Physical/Occupational/Recreation Therapists, Doctors and Clinicians.  Since 2006, the Adaptive Golf Academy has conducted workshops in over 30 states training over 1000 coaches to teach and develop adaptive golf programs which has manifested over the years to impacting "thousands" through the game.

Coach Training Workshops can be either a 1, 1.5 or 2-day experiences depending on the extent of your goals of program development and community reach.  PGA and LPGA members can earn from 6 to 10 MSR credits. Workshops include an indoor classroom segment, outdoor self-adaptation and a hands-on clinic segment where participating coaches can immediately apply their knowledge to adaptive needs players. Attending participants receive a certificate of completion as a “trained” Adaptive Golf Coach, the indoor slide presentation guide, USGA Rules for Golfers with Disabilities and information on completing certification to be a “Certified” Adaptive Golf Coach and be listed on the Adaptive Golf Association website where you and your program can be located by a search engine.
