About Us

The Adaptive Golf Academy is a PGA of America Recognized Golf School and accredited as a CE course provider by Florida Physical Therapy Association.

The Adaptive Golf Academy is the only team of PGA Professionals and Physical Therapists bringing you the most training and programming experience in adaptive golf than anyone in the world. AGA is committed to helping your organization learn the steps necessary to develop an adaptive golf program. This is accomplished through our Adaptive Golf Training Workshop and Program Consultation Course where we train you and your staff along with local professionals of the PGA/LPGA, therapists of rehabilitation hospitals, and volunteers of non-profit organizations, desiring to become "trained" adaptive golf instructors.

About Our Staff

David Windsor, PGA - Principal Instructor

David Windsor is a PGA of America Professional with over 18 years teaching experience.  A previous two-time recipient of the Southwest FL PGA “Teacher of the Year” award, David was again voted as PGA "Teacher of the Year," in 2008 for the entire North Florida PGA Section. Over the last nine years, David has instructed and developed weekly adaptive golf clinics for juniors, adults and Veterans. With this extensive knowledge of these processes, David founded the Adaptive Golf Academy in order to provide more continuity, safety and effectiveness in all programs. His goal is to educate, train and inspire instructors and students on how they can ultimately "make a difference!"  David shares the many adaptive philosophies of the late Sonny Ackerman, a noted Adaptive Golf Champion, Atlanta Athletic Club Sports Hall of Fame inductee and a founding father of the original Adaptive Golf Foundation in Atlanta, GA.  David also serves as Chapter Director for The First Tee Sarasota/Manatee, an international youth development organization founded by The World Golf Foundation.

Paul Goodlander, PTA

Paul is a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant and owner of Goodlander Rehabilitation and Fitness Center in Sarasota, Florida. In 1998, while with a patient after a CVA-stroke, Paul was asked, "Will I ever be able to play golf again?" This is when Paul and a small group of dedicated golfers began weekly adaptive golf sessions and hence, Paul founded the Florida Adaptive Golf organization in summer of 1998. A trained Adaptive Golf Instructor via several of Sonny Ackerman's training workshops, Paul’s knowledge of a wide-array of disabilities integrated with his golf experience with challenged players, he provides in-depth view of patient assessments and goals during adaptive golf processes.

Scott Weinmaster, TRS

Scott has been involved with adaptive sports for over 20 yrs. After a spinal cord injury in 1985, Scott went back to school and graduated with a B.A. in Therapeutic Recreation.  Scott then operated an adaptive sports program for a major US healthcare company for 12 yrs.  Also an Adaptive Golf Instructor trained via the late Sonny Ackerman, Scott has been involved with adaptive golf for over 10 yrs. Scott has been our representative and speaker/presenter during past U.S.G.A. National Conferences and has done numerous training clinics around the country. Scott currently resides in Arizona.
